The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos socialite and businessman Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, over alleged involvement in an international cocaine trafficking network.

According to the anti-narcotics agency, KC Luxury was arrested on August 13, 2026, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while allegedly preparing to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris.

The NDLEA said its investigation identified the 48-year-old suspect as an alleged key figure in a drug trafficking operation with links extending from South America through Nigeria to the United Kingdom, Europe and parts of Asia.

The agency said the arrest followed intelligence indicating that the suspect was attempting to leave the country.

During the arrest, NDLEA operatives reportedly recovered €7,750, £2,800 and N100,000 in cash, alongside expensive jewellery.

The agency also said a subsequent search of his luxury residence in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, led to the recovery of several exotic vehicles.

Luxury Lifestyle Draws Attention

Before his arrest, KC Luxury had built a strong presence on social media, where he regularly displayed expensive vehicles, designer fashion items, jewellery and luxury trips.

Jewellery reportedly recovered during the NDLEA investigation involving KC Luxury.

His online activities had earned him more than 700,000 Instagram followers and presented him as a businessman involved in gold, jewellery, real estate, agriculture and other luxury-related ventures.

However, the NDLEA alleged that the public image was used to conceal his involvement in cocaine trafficking.

The agency’s claims have drawn significant attention online, particularly because of the socialite’s connections to Nigeria’s entertainment and celebrity circles.

Images and videos showing KC Luxury alongside prominent personalities have also circulated widely on social media following news of his arrest.

His Instagram account, identified as @kacee_group, has since been placed on private mode, according to the report.

Some of the luxury vehicles reportedly linked to KC Luxury as part of the NDLEA’s ongoing investigation.

NDLEA Investigation Continues

The development has generated comparisons on social media with the case of Nigerian fraudster Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, because of the similarities between their highly publicised luxury lifestyles and alleged criminal activities.

However, the cases involve different allegations and jurisdictions.

The NDLEA is expected to continue its investigation into the alleged drug network and establish the full extent of the suspect’s activities.

KC Luxury is expected to face legal proceedings in Nigeria over the allegations.

The latest development has also renewed discussions about how criminal networks can use social media, luxury branding and public visibility to project legitimate business identities while allegedly concealing illicit activities.

The NDLEA’s allegations remain subject to the outcome of the judicial process.
