Onyendu Ndigbo of Ibadanland and Oyo State, Chief Alloysious Obi, has been appointed Grand Patron of the South East, South South and Middle Belt Forum in Oyo State.
Obi, who is the Chief Executive Officer of A.O. Obi and Sons West Africa, received the honour at a ceremony held in Ibadan.
President of the forum, Ambassador Friday Okoliko, said the appointment was in recognition of Obi’s integrity, leadership qualities and contributions to humanity across ethnic and religious boundaries.
Okoliko congratulated Obi on the recognition, describing his leadership and personal values as qualities that would contribute positively to the growth of the organisation.
He also expressed confidence that the forum would benefit from Obi’s experience, wisdom and commitment as he takes up his new role.
Responding to the honour, Obi thanked members of the organisation for the confidence placed in him. He pledged to remain accessible and support initiatives aimed at advancing the objectives of the forum.
Obi attended the ceremony alongside his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Peace Obi.

Also speaking at the event, the Otuekong of South South Community in Oyo State, Otuekong Michael I. Obasohan, congratulated Obi and said the honour reflected his contributions to humanity and his positive impact in Oyo State and beyond.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Onyendu Council of Chiefs, Igbo community leaders in Ibadan and Oyo State, as well as friends, associates and family members.
The recognition further highlights Obi’s involvement in community leadership and activities promoting unity and cooperation among people from different backgrounds.
