N Seven Nigeria Limited, a major shareholder in Guinness Nigeria Plc, has increased its investment in the brewing company after purchasing an additional 550,092 ordinary shares on the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

The acquisition was carried out through several open-market transactions on Friday, August 28, 2026, according to a share-dealing notification filed with the Nigerian Exchange.

The shares were purchased at different prices ranging from ₦356.40 to ₦384.80 per share, with the transactions producing an aggregate average price of ₦367.40 per share.

Based on the reported transaction value, N Seven committed approximately ₦202.1 million to the latest acquisition.

Details of the Share Purchase

The transaction involved several batches of Guinness Nigeria shares.

The largest purchase consisted of 498,973 shares acquired at ₦384.80 per share, while another significant transaction involved 30,000 shares purchased at ₦375 each.

Other smaller purchases were executed at various prices, including ₦356.60, ₦357, ₦362.80, ₦365.90 and ₦374 per share.

The company disclosed the transaction as part of the required notification of share dealings by major shareholders and insiders.

Tolaram Continues to Strengthen Guinness Nigeria Position

N Seven Nigeria operates within the Tolaram Group ecosystem, which became Guinness Nigeria’s controlling shareholder following Diageo Plc’s sale of its 58.02 per cent stake in the Nigerian brewer in 2024.

The latest purchase represents another increase in Tolaram’s exposure to the Nigerian brewing business as Guinness Nigeria continues to navigate inflation, foreign exchange pressures and elevated production costs.

The acquisition also comes against the backdrop of improving financial performance at Guinness Nigeria.

The brewer recently reported stronger profitability, with its profit after tax increasing by more than 48 per cent year-on-year to ₦10.39 billion, while revenue reached ₦122.77 billion.

Investor Confidence in Guinness Nigeria

The latest share purchase could be interpreted as a continued vote of confidence in Guinness Nigeria’s long-term prospects.

With its majority shareholder increasing its position, attention will remain on the company’s ability to sustain its earnings recovery and improve shareholder returns despite the challenging operating environment.

The transaction was disclosed in accordance with Nigerian Exchange rules governing share dealings by major shareholders and other relevant insiders.

N Seven’s latest acquisition further demonstrates Tolaram’s continued commitment to Guinness Nigeria as the brewer seeks to strengthen its market position and build on its recent improvement in financial performance.
