OSOGBO — The collation of results from the 2026 Osun State governorship election has been completed, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) expected to announce the final outcome of the keenly contested poll.

Results collated from the state’s 30 local government areas show incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party leading in 19 LGAs, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, secured victory in 11 LGAs.

The collation exercise followed the compilation and verification of results from polling units through the ward and local government levels.

With the process now concluded, attention has shifted to the INEC Returning Officer, who is expected to present the final figures and formally declare the winner based on the total number of valid votes recorded by the candidates.

The election featured Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, Oyebamiji of the APC, Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and other candidates.

The final declaration by INEC will determine who emerges as the next governor of Osun State following the August 15 governorship election.

As of the latest reports, Adeleke maintains the lead in the number of local government areas won, with Oyebamiji recording victories in the remaining 11 LGAs.
