The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of presidential candidates and their running mates for Nigeria’s 2027 general election.
The list contains 18 presidential candidates sponsored by different political parties ahead of the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) are among the prominent names on the final list.
The list was signed by INEC Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, following the conclusion of the political parties’ nomination processes.

The final list shows that 16 of the 18 presidential candidates are men, while two are women. The female presidential candidates are Ada Elizabeth Frederick Okwori of the NDP and Nkem Esther Okereke of the NRM.
Among the vice-presidential candidates, 14 are men and four are women. The female running mates are Peace Egobia of the APP, Nafisat Usaku of the DLA, Hajja Bintu Konto of the Labour Party and Patience Ndidi Key of the YPP.
Atiku Oldest, Adebisi Youngest
INEC’s data also provides the ages of the candidates.
At 79, Atiku Abubakar is the oldest presidential candidate on the final list, followed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is listed as 74 years old.
The youngest presidential candidate is Moses Olusolu Adebisi of the Democratic Labour Alliance, who is listed as 35 years old.
The commission’s final publication also contains information on the candidates’ qualifications, gender, age and disability status.
The release of the final presidential list marks another major step in preparations for the 2027 general election, with voters now able to identify the candidates officially cleared to contest the presidency under their respective political parties.
INEC has also published the final lists for candidates contesting the Senate and House of Representatives elections.
