Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to put aside internal differences and work together ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Aiyedatiwa made the appeal while addressing members of the party’s Elders Council at a meeting held at the Government House in Akure.

The governor stressed the importance of unity within the party, warning that internal divisions could weaken the APC and affect its chances of achieving its political objectives in the state.

He maintained that there is only one APC in Ondo State and urged members to reject moves capable of creating factions or parallel structures within the party.

As part of efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroots, Aiyedatiwa unveiled a mobilisation strategy covering the state’s 18 local government areas.

He also called for greater coordination across the party’s 203 wards and 3,933 polling units to improve grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.

The governor urged party leaders and members to support President Bola Tinubu as well as APC candidates contesting seats in the Senate, House of Representatives and Ondo State House of Assembly.

Aiyedatiwa described Tinubu as a courageous leader, arguing that the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms had increased the resources available to states for implementing development projects and programmes.

He therefore appealed to APC members in Ondo State to remain committed to the party and work collectively toward securing electoral victories in 2027.

The governor’s call comes amid increased political activity within the APC as the party prepares for the next general elections.

He said strengthening the party’s internal structure and maintaining unity would be essential to sustaining the APC’s political influence in Ondo State.
