The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okwuowori, Amukpe, has pledged to empower its members and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, as party leaders urged supporters to close ranks, increase voter mobilisation and strengthen the party’s electoral prospects in Delta State.
The pledge was made on Sunday, October 25, 2026, during a strategic meeting held at a roadside gathering in Okwuowori, Amukpe, Delta State. The meeting attracted prominent sons and daughters of the community, alongside key APC political stakeholders, who deliberated on party unity, grassroots engagement and strategies for improving the party’s electoral fortunes.
Addressing the gathering, the group’s leader urged members to remain united and become more proactive in grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections. He also encouraged them to ensure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) were ready and to remain prepared for the electoral contest.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. James Emavwoyan called on members to work tirelessly towards securing victory for the APC, stressing that a successful electoral outing could bring significant benefits to the community.
He reminded members of the existing political structures in Okwuowori and urged them to put aside their differences, remain focused and demonstrate unwavering commitment to the party’s growth and success.
In a passionate address, the Senior Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Youths Mobilisation, Mr. Enomate Egigba, recounted the development of the party’s political structure in the community, highlighting the importance of unity, trust and mutual assistance among members.

Reflecting on the spirit of cooperation that characterised the group in the past, Mr Egigba said members once enjoyed a strong culture of trust and mutual support, which he noted had gradually diminished.
According to him, “In those days, we could easily call James and say, ‘James, please lend me money. I will pay you back within two weeks.’ It was not that we lacked money, but we had a strong culture of trust and mutual support. Unfortunately, that practice is no longer common today.
“Now, when about 20 of us from this community come together, people look up to us for assistance. We can no longer afford to fold our arms or depend solely on farming for survival. We have a responsibility to support and assist our people whenever the need arises.”

Mr Egigba appealed to members to support the APC and work towards increasing the party’s votes in the community. He noted that a stronger electoral showing could improve Okwuowori’s prospects of benefiting from government appointments and other opportunities.
He also thanked members for their patience and attendance, observing that the impressive turnout despite the absence of formal publicity demonstrated the party’s grassroots presence and level of political engagement in the community.
The governor’s aide further assured members that the next meeting would feature a physical empowerment programme, expressing confidence in the group’s capacity to provide support for its members.
“Everything dey with us, God dey with us, resources dey,” he declared.

The meeting ended with members expressing renewed commitment to strengthening the APC’s structures in Okwuowori, mobilising supporters and working towards the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
Those present at the meeting included Mr. James Emavwoyan, APC Ward 20 Unit Leader; Mr. Enomate Egigba, Senior Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Youths Mobilisation; Mrs. Jakpor, former Women Leader; Mr. Emperor, Ward 9 Chairman; Mr. Edwin Ekaragha; Mr. Elis Okopkoro; Mr. Oghenenevwede Ogbimi; and Mr. Richard Edjeba, Unit 29 Leader, among other party faithful.
