It was a flood of tears and tributes yesterday, Saturday 24th October, 2026, as the remains of Late Mrs Maria Omoshare Ebinum (Nee Unumuemu), 80, were committed to mother earth.

The burial ceremony which took place in Orogun, Delta State was attended by family members, friends, church members and sympathizers who came to pay their last respects to the late matriarch.

Delivering the funeral sermon, the officiating minister reminded mourners that eternity is real. “Mama has finished her race at 80. What we are doing here today is a reminder that this earth is not our final home. The life hereafter is real, and we must all prepare for it,” he preached.

Mrs Destiny Ebinum’s Tribute To Her Mother:

In an emotional eulogy, one of her daughters, Mrs Destiny Ebinum+Apinoko, described her late mother as a loving mother, a prayer warrior and the rock of the family.

Her words:

“Mama, you were not just our mother, you were our rock, our strength, our prayer warrior and our greatest teacher. You taught us love, discipline, hard work and the fear of God. At 80, you lived a fulfilled life and left a legacy that will never die.

It is painful to say goodbye, but we are comforted because you are resting in the bosom of the Lord. We will miss your smile, your advice, your cooking, your prayers, but we promise to keep your legacy alive.

Rest well, my sweet mother, till we meet to part no more.”
