Five persons, two males and three females, were feared dead on Saturday afternoon following a crash involving a fully loaded 45,000-litre diesel tanker at Aduloju Bus Stop along the Ojoo-Iwo Road Expressway in Ibadan, Oyo State.

It was gathered that the tanker lost control and crushed five vehicles, including four commercial Micra cabs and a foreign-used car.

The incident occurred barely 24 hours after eight persons sustained varying degrees of burns in a petrol tanker explosion at Oluku Market, along the Benin-Lagos Road in Edo State.

The Edo State Police Command confirmed that the injured victims were evacuated to the Emergency Ward of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, where they are currently receiving treatment.
