Brentford defender Michael Kayode has disclosed that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) approached him about the possibility of representing the Super Eagles at senior international level.
However, the 22-year-old right-back said he did not seriously consider changing his international allegiance, citing his long-standing connection with the Italian national teams.
Kayode, who was born in Italy to Nigerian parents, is eligible to represent both countries. He has already featured extensively for Italy’s youth sides and has now received his first senior call-up to the Italian national team.
