The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old woman after she was allegedly caught attempting to lure a seven-year-old girl in the Ewu-Lisa area via Simawa.

The suspect, identified as Success Olafemi, was reportedly arrested on Saturday, August 22, 2026, following information provided to the police by a resident.

According to the report, the woman allegedly approached the child, identified as Jumat, and attempted to entice her with ₦200 notes and sachets of Milo.

The incident reportedly raised suspicion, leading to the suspect’s arrest and a subsequent search of her belongings.

Police said the search resulted in the recovery of 88 ATM cards linked to different financial institutions.

Among the cards recovered were 25 OPay cards, 13 UBA cards, nine GTBank cards, 10 Zenith Bank cards, 11 First Bank cards, seven Keystone Bank cards, four Ecobank cards, two PalmPay cards and two cards bearing the name of the former Skye Bank.

Officers also reportedly recovered ₦7,000 in cash, mostly in ₦200 denominations, along with sachets of Milo and Nescafé.

The suspect was taken into police custody for questioning. Authorities said she was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for her possession of the large number of ATM cards.

Police are continuing their investigation to establish the ownership of the cards and determine whether the suspect may be connected to other criminal activities.

The report also indicated that the woman appeared to have possible mental health challenges, with police expected to further investigate her background and circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities have not concluded the investigation, and the allegations against the suspect remain subject to the outcome of the police inquiry.
