Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has added another academic achievement to his football career after graduating from the PFA Business School with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship, completing the programme with Merit.

Awoniyi announced the achievement after his graduation, describing it as another proud moment away from the football pitch.

The Coventry City forward said he believes a career in professional football should not prevent players from continuing their education and developing knowledge beyond the game.

He expressed appreciation to the PFA Business School, its lecturers and fellow students who were part of his academic journey, while also thanking his family and friends for their support.

The qualification is another addition to Awoniyi’s academic background. He previously obtained a diploma in Business Administration and Marketing Management from the London School of International Business in 2020 before completing a Business Management degree at Buckinghamshire New University in 2022.

The Global Football Sport Directorship programme is focused on areas related to football management, sporting operations, leadership and administration. The qualification is designed to prepare participants for responsibilities within the wider football industry.

Awoniyi’s latest achievement comes shortly after he began a new chapter in his playing career with Coventry City following his departure from Nottingham Forest.

The Nigerian forward remains focused on his professional football career while continuing his development away from the pitch.

His latest milestone highlights his decision to combine professional football with continued education, building knowledge that could be useful within the football industry during and after his playing career.

For Awoniyi, the journey continues both on the pitch and in the classroom.
