The Azerbaijan Movement has commenced grassroots mobilisation in Lagos State in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group launched the mobilisation campaign on Monday, with the objective of building early support for APC candidates at the federal and state levels.
Speaking at the rally, the movement’s Convener, Mr Abayomi Omotayo, said the initiative was designed to strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots and encourage residents to support its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Omotayo said the movement would also embark on public sensitisation aimed at highlighting infrastructure projects and economic initiatives of the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
He explained that beyond political mobilisation, the group intended to create a stronger channel through which grassroots communities could communicate their needs to elected representatives.
According to him, the movement would work towards mobilising votes for APC candidates while also helping residents communicate pressing concerns and requests for emergency interventions to government officials at both federal and state levels.
He described the rally as part of the group’s broader strategy to demonstrate its grassroots reach and maintain political engagement well ahead of the 2027 elections.
The mobilisation comes as political parties and support groups intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with various organisations beginning to strengthen their structures and voter outreach activities across the country.
