The leadership of the Uvwie Consultative Forum (UCF) on Wednesday, 7th October, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, at his residence in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

The visit was primarily to formally introduce the executives and members of the UCF Steering Committee to the Governor, while also providing an opportunity for the leadership of the forum to appreciate His Excellency for his administration’s efforts toward infrastructural development and the overall growth of Uvwie Local Government Area and Delta State.

The meeting was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with discussions centred on political unity, reconciliation, development, quality representation and the collective responsibility of stakeholders toward achieving a stronger political future for Uvwie and Delta State.

APPRECIATION FOR GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI’S DEVELOPMENTAL STRIDES

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Gibson Akporehe, Convener of the Uvwie Consultative Forum, expressed appreciation to Governor Oborevwori for granting the delegation an audience despite his demanding schedule.

He commended the Governor for what he described as his administration’s significant strides in infrastructural development across Uvwie and other parts of Delta State.

Hon. Akporehe noted that the visit was not merely political but also an opportunity for the leadership of UCF to acknowledge the Governor’s contributions to the development of the state and to establish a direct line of communication between the forum and the state leadership.

UCF INTRODUCES ITS LEADERSHIP TO THE GOVERNOR

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Uvwie Consultative Forum, Elder Efe Okoledo, began by appreciating Governor Oborevwori for his leadership and commitment to development, particularly the various legacy projects being undertaken across Uvwie Local Government Area and Delta State.

Elder Okoledo thereafter formally introduced the executives of the UCF who accompanied him to the Governor’s residence.

He explained that the Uvwie Consultative Forum was established with a strong commitment to promoting unity, reconciliation and political understanding among the people of Uvwie.

According to him, one of the major objectives of the forum is to reach out to aggrieved stakeholders, bring people together and create a common platform through which political differences can be addressed in the interest of the people.

He further stated that the forum is committed to supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) and working toward a 5/5 electoral victory in the forthcoming general elections—from the Presidency to the Delta State House of Assembly.

GOVERNOR STATES THAT GIBSON WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PERSON WHO DECLARED THAT GOVERNORSHIP POSITION SHOULD COME FROM OSU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

In his response, Governor Oborevwori acknowledged Hon. Akporehe’s position, recalling that Akporehe had demonstrated his conviction by resigning his appointment with the former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, in order to openly pursue his position on the need for OSU Federal Constituency to produce the next Governor of Delta State.

The Governor described the development as a reflection of Akporehe’s commitment to his political convictions.

GOVERNOR OBOREVWORI CALLS FOR SUPPORT FOR APC CANDIDATES

His Excellency Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori thanked the leadership of the Uvwie Consultative Forum for choosing to visit him at his residence, and pledged his total support for the UCF.

The Governor encouraged the forum to continue its grassroots engagement and to mobilise support for the candidates of the APC in the forthcoming general elections.

He specifically urged members of the UCF to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Ede Dafinone for Delta Central Senatorial District, Hon. Chief Ramson Onoyake for the Federal House of Representatives, the APC governorship candidate, and Hon. Edafe Emakpo for the Delta State House of Assembly, Uvwie Constituency.

His Excellency emphasised the importance of unity, effective mobilisation and grassroots participation in achieving electoral success.

GOVERNOR HIGHLIGHTS MAJOR ROAD PROJECTS IN UVWIE

Governor Oborevwori further highlighted some of the major infrastructural projects his administration has awarded for reconstruction within Uvwie Local Government Area.

Among the projects mentioned were the Refinery Road, Jakpa Road, Sheriff Road — formerly Airport Road — and Mami Market Road along the Effurun Army Barracks axis in Uvwie Kingdom.

The Governor explained that these projects form part of his administration’s broader commitment to improving road infrastructure, easing transportation and enhancing economic activities within Uvwie and Delta State.

He urged stakeholders to continue supporting development initiatives that will directly improve the quality of life of the people.

NO LEGACY IS BETTER THAN QUALITY EDUCATION.

One of the notable messages from the Governor during the meeting was his strong emphasis on education.

His Excellency encouraged members of the UCF and other community leaders to prioritise the education of their children and wards, stressing that there is no greater legacy that parents can leave for their children than quality education.

He urged parents to invest in the future of their children through sound education, noting that educated young people are better positioned to contribute meaningfully to the development of their families, communities and society.

GOVERNOR CONGRATULATES NEW GOVERNING COUNCIL MEMBERS.

Governor Oborevwori also used the occasion to congratulate Professor Arisi of Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, and Professor Oromareghake of the University of Delta, Agbor, on their appointments as members of Governing Councils of Delta State-owned universities.

He wished them success in their new responsibilities and encouraged them to contribute positively to the development of the institutions entrusted to their care.
