Several young players are heading into the new Premier League season with growing expectations after making high-profile moves or breaking into first-team football.
Among them are Chelsea winger Geovany Quenda and Aston Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi, while Villa youngster Brian Madjo has also made headlines after his first competitive appearance for the club.
Quenda Makes Chelsea Move
Chelsea have officially completed the arrival of 19-year-old Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon.
The Portuguese winger signed a contract through to 2034 after helping Sporting win the league and cup double. He was also named the Primeira Liga Young Player of the Season in 2025.

Quenda has already gained European experience despite his age and has represented Portugal at Under-21 level. Chelsea will now look to develop him further as part of a squad that continues to invest heavily in young talent.
Villa Back Young Talent
Aston Villa have also added one of Europe’s promising young midfielders in Johan Manzambi.
The 20-year-old Switzerland international joined Villa from Freiburg after playing a key role in the German club’s run to the Europa League final. He also impressed at the 2026 World Cup and was named the Europa League’s Young Player of the Season.
Meanwhile, Villa’s 17-year-old striker Brian Madjo has made an early impression after scoring on his competitive debut against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup. The teenager had previously been unable to play competitively because of registration issues.
With the Premier League season approaching, all three will be players to watch as young talent takes on bigger roles at some of England’s top clubs.
