The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has strengthened kidney-care services in Delta State with the donation of three dialysis machines to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba.

The intervention is part of the church’s efforts to support healthcare delivery and improve access to dialysis treatment for patients battling kidney-related conditions.

The donation adds to RCCG’s growing contribution to the health sector, particularly through the church’s social responsibility initiatives aimed at providing critical medical equipment and facilities to healthcare institutions.

The three machines are expected to increase the hospital’s capacity to attend to patients requiring regular dialysis, a treatment that is essential for people whose kidneys can no longer adequately perform their functions.

RCCG has in recent years expanded its healthcare interventions across different parts of Nigeria, including the establishment and equipping of dialysis centres.

Through its Christian Social Responsibility programme, the church has supported healthcare facilities with dialysis equipment and other essential infrastructure. Earlier interventions have included dialysis centres in several states across the country.

The church’s healthcare initiatives are largely driven by concerns over the limited availability of dialysis facilities and the high cost of treatment, which can make access difficult for many Nigerians living with kidney disease.

The latest donation to FMC Asaba is therefore expected to provide additional support to patients in Delta State and surrounding communities who require dialysis services.

The initiative also highlights the growing role of partnerships between religious organisations, private donors and public healthcare institutions in addressing gaps in Nigeria’s healthcare system.

With the addition of the three machines, FMC Asaba is better positioned to expand its dialysis services and improve treatment access for patients with kidney failure.
