The Warri, Ijebu, Community and Commercial Association (WICCIMA) has congratulated Chief Henry Afure Sakpra on his appointment as the new General Manager of the Delta State Social Investment Programme (DSIP).

Sakpra was recently appointed to head the state social investment agency following approval by Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.

The appointment takes immediate effect and is expected to strengthen the administration and implementation of social intervention programmes across the state.

In its congratulatory message, WICCIMA described the appointment as a recognition of Sakpra’s experience, leadership qualities and commitment to the development of Delta State.

The association expressed confidence that he would bring his experience to bear in his new position and contribute meaningfully to programmes designed to improve the lives of residents.

The Delta State Social Investment Programme was established to address poverty, hunger and other forms of social deprivation while creating opportunities that can improve the socio-economic well-being of citizens.

The programme places particular attention on people at the grassroots and is expected to support initiatives aimed at poverty reduction, social inclusion and improved access to opportunities.

WICCIMA also expressed optimism that Sakpra’s leadership would help strengthen the delivery of social investment initiatives and ensure that more residents benefit from government intervention programmes.

The association wished the new DSIP General Manager success as he begins his tenure, urging him to remain committed to the welfare and development of the people.

Sakpra’s appointment is part of the Delta State Government’s wider efforts to strengthen its social investment structure and advance the objectives of the MORE Agenda, particularly in improving the socio-economic conditions of Deltans.
