Victor Osimhen delivered another outstanding performance for Galatasaray, scoring twice and providing an assist as the Turkish champions defeated Erzurum FK 4-0 in their Turkish Super Lig clash on Friday.
The Nigeria international played a major role in the comfortable victory, contributing directly to three of Galatasaray’s four goals.
Roland Sallai opened the scoring for Galatasaray in the 12th minute before Osimhen turned provider eight minutes later, setting up Yunus Akgün to double the visitors’ advantage.
Osimhen then got on the scoresheet himself shortly before half-time after taking advantage of an error by Erzurum goalkeeper Matija Orbanic to put Galatasaray 3-0 ahead at the break.
The Super Eagles striker completed his brace in the 79th minute, wrapping up an impressive individual display and sealing a convincing victory for Okan Buruk’s side.
Osimhen Continues Impressive Start
The performance marked another strong outing for Osimhen at the beginning of the new Turkish league season.
The 27-year-old had already scored twice in Galatasaray’s opening league fixture against Çorum FK, meaning he now has four league goals after two matches.
His latest brace also helped Galatasaray secure their first league victory of the campaign after they were held to a 2-2 draw in their opening match.
Galatasaray Return to Winning Ways
Galatasaray dominated the encounter and produced a much-improved performance after dropping points in their opening fixture.
The 4-0 result moved the defending champions to four points from their first two league games, while Erzurum FK remained without a point after suffering their second defeat of the campaign.
Osimhen’s form will be particularly encouraging for Galatasaray as the club looks to defend its Turkish Super Lig title and compete on multiple fronts this season.
