President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed reports and speculation about his health, saying he is healthy and prepared to return fully to his official duties.

The President spoke on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, shortly after arriving in Lagos from Paris, France, where he had spent the final part of an extended working vacation in Europe.

Responding to questions from journalists about concerns over his health during his time abroad, Tinubu said there was no health problem and described the reports as politically motivated rumours.

The President said he was back in the country in good health and ready to resume work.

Tinubu also said he enjoyed his time away from Nigeria, describing the vacation positively.

His return came after he spent about four weeks outside the country. He initially travelled to London on August 30 before proceeding to Paris, where he held several engagements, including meetings with business figures and a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron.

The Presidency had earlier described Tinubu’s stay abroad as a working vacation and rejected concerns about his prolonged absence, maintaining that he continued to perform his presidential responsibilities while outside the country.

Tinubu arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where he was received by senior government officials, political leaders and other dignitaries.

The President’s comments have now put his position on the health rumours on record as he resumes activities in Nigeria following his European trip.
