The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given candidates with outstanding admission offers from 2021 to 2025 additional time to either accept or reject the offers.
The new deadline has been fixed for November 30, 2026, giving affected candidates another opportunity to regularise their admission records through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
JAMB announced the extension on Wednesday, September 30, following an earlier deadline of the same date. The board advised candidates with unresolved admission offers to log into their CAPS accounts and indicate their decisions before the new deadline.
According to the board, candidates who fail to accept or reject their outstanding offers by November 30 will have the offers changed to “Not Admitted” on JAMB’s records.
The extension followed a period during which the CAPS platform was temporarily unavailable for about 96 hours, according to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin. The board said the additional period would provide affected candidates with a final opportunity to update their admission status.
Candidates who accept their outstanding offers will be able to proceed with the process of obtaining and printing their admission letters.
JAMB has also clarified that candidates who have since moved to another institution or changed programmes may accept an earlier offer and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion of the admission record where necessary.
The board further explained that candidates who secured admission during the 2026 admission exercise but still have an older offer pending may reject the earlier offer without affecting their current 2026 admission.
However, JAMB warned that any outstanding offer that remains unresolved after November 30 will automatically revert to “Not Admitted”. Requests to subsequently alter such records may also attract the applicable penalty fee.
The board therefore urged all affected candidates to access their CAPS profiles as soon as possible and complete the required action before the revised deadline.
