President Bola Tinubu has dismissed rumours concerning his health, saying he is healthy, sound and ready to resume work.

Tinubu spoke on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, shortly after arriving at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos following his extended working vacation in Europe.

The President had spent about four weeks outside Nigeria, travelling through London and Paris before returning to the country.

Tinubu Responds to Health Concerns

Speaking with journalists upon his arrival, Tinubu was asked about concerns and rumours surrounding his health during his time abroad.

The President responded that there was nothing wrong with him and said he was ready to return to his official duties.

“Ready to kick, ready to work, there’s nothing wrong,” Tinubu said.

He further attributed the rumours about his health to political activity, insisting that his return demonstrated that he remained in good condition.

“Rumours will always be emanating from politics, but the fact remains, I’m here, healthy, sound and ready to go,” he added.

President Returns After Extended Vacation

Tinubu left Nigeria on August 30 for what was initially announced as a three-week vacation. He later extended his stay by a few days before returning to Lagos on September 29.

During his time in Europe, the President participated in several engagements, including meetings with business leaders and other activities described by the Presidency as part of his working vacation.

His return comes as the Federal Government prepares for activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1.

The President is also expected to hold further engagements in Lagos before returning to Abuja.

Tinubu’s comments have provided his direct response to the health concerns that circulated during his extended stay outside the country.
